Ross Alexander
Guaranteed To Make Your Day Special

Music is a big part of any wedding day and it's a big contributing factor to the mood and emotion of the day.  Would you consider letting an accountant who likes to work with cars fix your car?  Of course not.  Anyone with any sense would like a mechanic to work on their car.  Would you like to go to a dentist and then find out that he's not really a professional dentist, he's a bricklayer who likes to tinker with peoples teeth at weekends?  Of course not!  So why would you book anything other than a professional musician/singer for your wedding day?

Ross is a professional musician/singer who specializes in wedding ceremonys and receptions.  He is one of the few (and possibly the only) acoustic singer/songwriters in the country who specialise in this field.  Why isn't this market filled with acoustic singers?  Well it's quite simple really.  Weddings are a tough gig.  It's a controlled environment where you have a captive audience, not like a pub where mostly everyone has had a few drinks and won't notice the odd bum note.  You're also responsible for creating the mood and providing the music for what's probably going to be the biggest event in a girls life.  An event she's maybe dreamed of since she was a little girl.  She's maybe picked a certain song to walk down the aisle to and it's a song that she's listened to for years and she'll want it played note perfect and so will the guests.  One wrong note could turn something so special into a laughing stock and could set the wrong mood for the rest of the ceremony.  So, lets be honest. Why would you even consider booking someone who isn't a professional?

Ross takes great pride in being an emotive singer with more than a tendency for perfection in everything he does.  He has performed at hundreds of ceremonies but still gets nervous at every one he plays at.  He treats each service as the most important gig of his life and he always brings a performance that is second to none.  That alone is a good enough reason why you should book him for your big day.  Another reason is the fact that he can basically sing anything you want to walk down that aisle to.  And he will sing it with passion, emotion, and conviction.  A lot of professional singers lose their passion and conviction in their delivery of a song.  Ross's emphasis is always on the emotional delivery of the music and the song, and that is what people always connect with.

The Ceremony

Some people spend an absolute fortune on flowers that are maybe not even noticed by most of the guests.  They'll maybe spend a small fortune on favours for the tables that are usually left at the end of the night and forgotten about.  But when it comes to music some people can be quite happy to just go with "whatever's handy and whatever's cheap and cost effective".  The music is probably the most important part of the ceremony and is only second in importance to your wedding dress.  Every one of your guests will be touched and affected by the music.  Every one of the guests will notice the music.  Every one of your guests will hear the music.  When your walking down that aisle it should be the most emotional, exhilarating, heart warming experience of your life.  The right music and the right singer can make a world of difference to that walk and it can make every one of your guests feel a part of that emotional experience.

Please don't take the most important walk of your life accompanied by an ipod or a cd player.  Yes, that sounds ridiculous, but brides all over the country do that every day.  A small cd player at the back of the church or an ipod dock, playing one of your favourite songs, and maybe skipping or cutting out when you get halfway down the aisle.  Your guests will be standing completely unaffected by anything that's going on.  There will be no big entrance and no big swell of emotion to take anyone's breath away because the ipod and the cd player just can't get that reaction from anyone.

When a bride makes her entrance every one of the guests should turn around and look at her and every one of the guests should have to take a moment to catch their breath.

Ross has played everything from Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Westlife, right through to Metallica, at countless wedding ceremonies all over the country.  Whatever the bride and groom request that is what they'll get.  You also get the added bonus of Ross's expertise to help and advise you with what music really works well and what maybe doesn't work quite as well.

Why not walk down the aisle to your own original composition?

Ross is an extremely talented and accomplished songwriter and has written songs and compositions for brides to walk down the aisle to.  Some people want their day to be so special and so different that they just want it all to be unique from start to finish.  Having your own song written is a good start to making your day stand out from the rest.  Listen to Easter's Bride on the play list and You And Me on the download section of the site.  Both of these songs were written for two of Ross's friends.  Easter's Bride was written and composed for Lucy Reid to walk down the aisle to on her wedding day.  It's also the first piece of music that Ross's classical trio "Timbre"  performed together.  You And Me was written for Ros Courtney as a wedding present to her husband on their big day.  Ros wanted to do something special for him and You And Me was the result of that.  The song was completely written around emails that Ros had sent Ross regarding how their romance started and various things that happened throughout their relationship.

The Afternoon Reception

This one's really simple.  Your guests are sitting around while the bride and groom get their photographs taken.  Weddings are a long day and they can be a tiring day.  Ross does a fantastic 2 hour set at this part of the day to keep the guests entertained.  It's just like a night out at a live music bar for your guests.  Great music and a great atmosphere.
